the simple nodding
of compassionate
hearts
only the lovers
tonight
stars so empty
they dare not fall
the eager clouds
holding lightning and thunder
lest the rain cry too much
and tears
be too bold
one silver star
the night left
to never grow old..

i feel a lot of anticipation in this steve…only the lovers was a line that initially jumped out at me…and then that everything would try to hold its place not to break the moment…

Simple nodding. No more be done than look toward heaven.
An easy read, paints a pleasant picture.
Cheers!

The natural world comes to a halt for the sake of these lovers, yet the bells will ring…I like the idea, the poem celebrates the anticipation and fulfillment of loves promise…really lovely writing with empty stars and eager clouds.
